Hey everyone, sorry for not posting in a very long time. Have been really busy with lots of stuff and partly lazy.
Anyway, recently I have been training really hard for my softball competition nationals and our team have done really well for our last two games. Both games were pretty hard as we were playing strong opponents in our group for the first two games. We were quite nervous to start with as this was our first game in nationals and to add to it, we were playing a seeded team. However, We played extremely well :D we scored 6 runs in the first inning, followed by 14 runs in the second inning and 6 runs again in the third inning. And throughout these 3 innings, we only let in 1 run. The score was then 26-1 and the game ended due to " mercy rule" which means that if a team is winning by too much and it seems that the opponent is not able to catch up, the game is ended by the umpire.
So the second game was against another strong team, who had a very fast pitcher. They caught us unprepared as many of us could not hit his ball. Hence, coach came up with a plan to bunt the pitcher's ball as the fielders were unable to play us out. We executed the plan and and bunted every inning, putting pressure on the pitcher, scoring 6 runs in total and winning 6-0 overall.
Our defense has been quite good as we have only let in a run in both of games. So if we can keep our defense up, we will have a very good chance of going far in this competition and our target (hopefully!) is a top four position!! Wish us luck :)
